MAKING POPCORN

POPCORN.gif

On the 3rd of November Room 4 children were given a mystery task to complete!

We were given these materials:
Oiloil.jpga potpot.jpg an electric hot platehot_plate.jpg
Then had to think about what we would be making.
We guessed we were making waffles, pikelets, pancakes, popcorn and cakes. Then Miss Casserly gave us the last material and it was...........popping corn!
popping_corn.jpg We had guessed right! We were going to make popcorn!
Our first step was to measure 2 tablespoons of oil and pour it into the pot.
We then turned on the hot plate to high and put the pot on top.
Then we added 1/2 a cup of popping corn to the pot.
We then put the lid on top of the pot to make sure the oil or popcorn didn't come out.
Then we waited for around about 3 minutes for the popping corn to heat up.
When we heard the first pop, we shook the pot carefully to make sure the popcorn didn't burn on the bottom.
When the popping stopped we turned the hot plate off and served the popcorn!
To make sure we were healthy students, we didn't add any butter or icing sugar! And........... it was still very yummy!
